Radek Šidla /Bass-baritone/

Born in 1969 in Prague, Radek Šidla studied at the Prague Conservatory (1987 - 90) and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (1990 - 92). His first professional singing engagement came in 1991 at the Prague Chamber Opera (Figaro – Figaro’s Wedding, Speaker–The Magic Flute). From 1992,he studied in Germany (Munich) at the Richard-Strauss School of music under N. Hillebrandt, later he had private lessons with Prof. Rudolf Knoll in Salzburg (Austria).

Stage performances: Sarastro (The Magic Flute), Don Magnifico (La Cenerentola), Uberto (La Servapadroba). Concerts in the Czech Republic (Mozart - Requiem) as well as in Germany (Mozart –Coronation Mass, C. Frank – Ruth, Brahms – A German Requiem, J. S. Bach –St John Passion). He has had numerous performances with "The Singing Waiters Prague" of the Richard-Strauss School of music in Munich as well as in his own singing ensemble Radek Sidla´s Singing Waiters since 1999.

Other collaborations since 2000 included– the Independent State Theater, Bayern (SRN), 2000/01 – State Theater Detmold (SRN), 2003/2004 - F. -X.-Šalda-Theater Liberec. He founded his own ensemble, the Singing Waiters, in 1999. In 2009, the ensemble was renamed and artistically modified. Since 2002, Radek Sidla has been the owner of the art agency R.S.Artists, since 2005, he has been a state certified translator/interpreter and since 2006, he has been a contractor of Škoda Auto a.s. Since 2008, he has been the manager of his own company Translation Center Sidla.
